COLONEL HARVEY C. “BARNEY” BARNUM, MOH, USMC (RET)

Virginia Beach, VA January 4th, 2010 - Anchor Innovation, Inc. (Anchor) announced today a consulting agreement with Colonel Harvey C. "Barney" Barnum.  Colonel Barnum was the fourth Marine to receive the Medal of Honor in Vietnam for heroic actions which took place in the Queson Mountains between Da Nang and Chu Lai in 1965.  Colonel Barnum retired from the Marine Corps in 1989, after 27 years of service.

Upon retirement, Colonel Barnum continued his government service as the Principal Director, Drug Enforcement Policy, Office of the Secretary of Defense.  In 2001, Colonel Barnum was appointed as Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Reserve Affairs. Answering the many calls for reforms of the disability system, Colonel Barnum started the Seriously Injured Sailors and Marines Program, a highly successful pilot program which aids veterans in the education of their post-service options.

Colonel Barnum became the Acting Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Manpower and Reserve Affairs on 20 January, 2009, a post he held until his retirement in May, 2009.  With 47 years of exemplary military and government service behind him, Anchor is extremely proud to have Colonel Barnum join our team.  His uncompromising value system, concern for the troops, and tireless dedication to the security of this country motivate all that come in contact with him.
